چکیده
Abstract Background Elevated levels of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) are found in both pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension (PH), including arterial hypertension, PH associated with hypoxia/lung disease and chronic thromboembolic post-capillary left heart disease. We asked the question whether NT-proBNP concentrations differ among these subtypes. Methods Based on right catheterization (RHC) data collected at our institution between Jan. 2019 Dec. 2021, 146 patients were classified as no PH, isolated (iPC-PH) or combined pre- (cPC-PH) according to 2022 ESC/ERS guidelines (GL). values compared across groups by Kruskal-Wallis test Bonferroni correction. The characteristics subjects ≤ >1.100 pg/mL, a cut-off for severity proposed GL, chi-square test, T-test, Mann-Whitney appropriate. also applied hemodynamic definitions 2018 6th World Symposium (6WSPH) 2015 examined differences distribution McNemar reassessed concentrations. The effect of amlodipine and sildenafil on the NT-proBNP level of patients with COPD-induced pulmonary hypertension.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an important cause of heart failure in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The pro brain natriuretic peptide N-terminal (NT-proBNP) has been suggested as a noninvasive marker to evaluate ventricular function. However, there is no evidence to support the use of NT-proBNP in monitoring the benefits of vasodilators in COPD induced PH. Thus, we used NT-proBN...

متن کاملC-reactive protein and NT-proBNP as surrogate markers for pulmonary hypertension in Gaucher disease.
BACKGROUND N-terminal pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) values correlate with mild-moderate pulmonary hypertension assessed by tricuspid insufficiency (TI) gradient>or=30 mm Hg in Gaucher disease. The purpose of this study is to ascertain improved risk stratification based on correlation with NT-proBNP and C-reactive protein (CRP), a standard marker of inflammation. METHODS Patients w...
